Avoid Nursing Homes, Hospitals and Prescription Drugs With Chiropractic Care!

Avoid Nursing Homes, Hospitals, and Prescription Drugs With Chiropractic Care!

You flex your tense fingers and then rest your sweaty palms on the podium. Two other brainiacs stand on either side of you. Awaiting the next answer read by Alex T. Knowitall, you prepare to pounce on the buzzer like a lioness on her prey. The silver-haired host states, “Sixth-month dental visits, oil changes, paying insurance premiums, heater cleanings, and monthly chiropractic visits.” After a flash of reflexive muscular contraction as your hand attacks the buzzer, the frame around your name lights up. Alex gives you a nod and you say, “Things that I avoid doing because it will never happen to ME!” Your excitement drops as quickly as your cash prize when Alex leans in and lets you know that your response is WRONG! Ida Betterwell, the Harvard professor with 26 letters after her name, rings in and answers with clear confidence, “Things you do to PREVENT and AVOID costly problems!” The kind host rewards such brilliance, and Ida takes the lead.

You already know how effective chiropractic care is for pain and dysfunction arising from car crashes, work and sports injuries, and the wear and tear of daily life! This article invites you to join the multitude of people of all ages who use chiropractic in order to PREVENT pain and sickness and to allow the body to work at its best. They do this when they are “well” and before debilitating breakdowns occur! This form of care is known as chiropractic maintenance or wellness care.

I am from a chiropractic family and have been receiving preventative wellness care for my entire life. The benefits from this investment in my health have been great. I have observed the same results in hundreds of patients who receive monthly wellness care in my office. One of those patients is Elsie. She received care monthly for years in my practice, starting from when it was my father's chiropractic office. In her mid-eighties, Elsie told me one day how a new physician performing her yearly physical exam thought that she was losing her memory. His diagnostic impression of Elsie was given because he did not believe her when she said that she was not taking any medications, drove a car, and still lived at home on her own. With bright eyes and wit, Elsie convinced the doctor that her mind was still sharp and that not all seniors are sick and taking a mouthful of drugs daily. She would often boast about how chiropractic helped her remain more youthful and healthy.

Researchers at the prestigious RAND Corporation performed a three-year study of senior citizens over 75 years of age. The findings were memorable!

The seniors studied who receive chiropractic care on a regular basis:

  1. Report better overall health, have fewer chronic conditions, and are less likely to use prescription drugs than non-chiropractic patients.
  2. Were more likely to exercise vigorously and more likely to be active in the community.

The numbers also showed that:

  1. 87% of senior citizens under chiropractic care described their health status as good or excellent, compared to only 65% of non-chiropractic patients.
  2. Chiropractic patients spend 15% less time in nursing homes and 21% less time in hospitals than the non-chiropractic patients.1

Similar benefits were realized when a study compared children raised enjoying the chiropractic lifestyle to children raised following the medical model. The researchers concluded that:

“It has shown that children raised under chiropractic care are less prone to infectious processes such as otitis media (ear infections) and tonsillitis and that their immune systems are better able to cope with allergens such as pollen, weeds, grasses, etc. compared to children raised under allopathic care. There is also a significant decreased history of antibiotic use among the “Chiropractic’ children.”2

By choosing to receive regular chiropractic check-ups, you are making a wise investment. You can save yourself from future suffering and help keep more money in your bank account. After studying people who, at age 65, were receiving regular chiropractic maintenance care for 5 years, the researchers found that 95.8% believed the care to be either “considerably” or “extremely” valuable.

The following cost savings and decreased need for drugs and surgery were demonstrated:

Chiropractic patients receiving maintenance care, when compared with US citizens of the same age, spent only 31% of the national average for health care services and reported a 50% reduction in medical provider visits.3

Using chiropractic care as a form of prevention is a choice that wisely helps you function normally and remain healthy. It can prevent you from the suffering that accompanies illness, pain, and disability! The research is as bright as the smile of your favorite game-show personality. Take it from Elsie, and commit to making a positive improvement in your life by investing in your health today. Periodic chiropractic visits in our Wilmington office are much easier than depending on a big game show win to pay for your preventable medical conditions!
